Senior journalist and General Secretary of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Pakistan chapter, Emanuel Sarfraz, passed away due to cardiac arrest in the early hours of January 13.
Sarfraz, a seasoned journalist with over three decades of experience, held prominent roles in Pakistan’s media industry. He served as the Editor Coordination and Magazine Editor for The Nation and worked as a correspondent for Gulf News. He also founded the Academia Magazine, contributing significantly to education-focused journalism.
Sarfraz was a life member and governing body member of the Lahore Press Club. Among his accolades, he received the prestigious South Asia Journalism Fellowship (SAJP).
The Lahore Press Club, in a statement, informed journalists about Sarfraz’s passing.
Journalists and colleagues from The Nation, Daily Times, Academia Magazine, and various media organizations extended their condolences to his family.
