Sir: In a country infested with terrorists and governed by corrupt politicians, the people of Pakistan do not need more popcorn journalism, where journalists and news channels use sound tracks and computer imagery to increase the tension on innocuous news stories.

Such reporting should be discouraged as it only impairs the very nature of journalism with regards to the reportage of serious news. Let’s not bring the culture of CNN and Fox News to our nation’s news channels and adopt a professional approach towards the reporting of news.
