ISLAMABAD: Senior journalists of the country will record their statements today (Tuesday) before the judicial commission set up to probe the killing of Saleem Shahzad.
Meanwhile, the judicial commission on Monday recorded the statement of brother-in-law of the slain journalist, while Mandi Bahuddin police handed over the articles recovered from Shahzad’s vehicle to it.
The meeting chaired by Supreme Court judge Justice Saqib Nisar and attended by Federal Shariat Court Chief Justice Agha Rafiq, Islamabad Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan, IGP Punjab Javed Iqbal and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists President Pervaiz Shaukat at the Supreme Court building continued for six hour.
Ministry of Information Secretary Taimur Azmat said that the commission and the police were investigating the case separately. The efforts are on to get the record of Saleem Shahzad mails, while they were able to get access to some of his phone calls record.
