The Content and Production Oversight Board’s first meeting, led by Sindh Senior Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon, emphasized the need to nurture new talent, including filmmakers and playwrights.
The meeting saw participation by Sindh Information Secretary Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, DG (PR) Saleem Khan, Director of Films Hizbullah Memon, Deputy Director Sarang Latif Chandio, and board members including Qazi Asad Abid, Warda Salim, Nimra Malik, Azan Sami Khan, and Hassan Asghar Naqvi.
During this meeting, Memon shared his government’s commitment to promoting creative works ” to foster democratic values and cultivate a healthy society in the province.” He said the board intends to offer financial support to new writers and production houses.
The effectiveness of the board was also discussed. It was decided that production houses interested in financial support should submit outlines of their projects by the next week for review in the next meeting.
Board member Qazi Asad Abid praised the Sindh government for establishing the board in a short timeframe and noted that its main goal is to support new talent.
