On September 29, Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi inaugurated the Karachi Youth Summit 2026 at the Karachi Expo Centre and urged young people to use social media and digital platforms for constructive and positive purposes.
Hashmi highlighted the potential of digital platforms to help young people develop skills, pursue opportunities and contribute to national development. He encouraged youth to make full use of information technology and engage in productive online activities. He also referred to the Digital Youth Hub, a federal government initiative under the Prime Minister that offers scholarships, interest-free loans and employment opportunities.
The summit, organised by Al-Khidmat, featured debates, short film and robotics competitions, a Youth Talent Showcase, career counselling and a job fair. Speakers also highlighted the role of information technology and entrepreneurship in creating opportunities for young people.
