
On June 23, the Chairman of the Social Media Protection and Regulatory Authority (SMPRA) Ayaz Shaukat met with the Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi to discuss digital governance, the responsible use of social media and public awareness. Accompanying the chairman were SMPRA member Sohail Iqbal Soor and other attendees.
The meeting at the Governor House concentrated on positive social media use and effective regulatory measures. Both parties emphasized the importance of promoting a national narrative through constructive social media use.
Governor Hashmi highlighted the necessity of adapting policy-making to meet contemporary needs, stressing that creating a safe and positive digital environment for the youth is a crucial, collective duty. The two sides agreed on collaboration and developing future joint initiatives.
