On February 8, journalist Zain Malik tragically lost his life after falling from a building rooftop while taking part in kite-flying activities during the Basant festival in Lahore. The incident occurred in the Gulshan-e-Ravi area on the final day of the three-day celebration.
Malik, a sports reporter for GNN TV, sustained critical injuries in the fall and was declared dead at the government-run Mian Munshi District Headquarters Hospital.
Hospital officials listed cardiopulmonary arrest as the cause of death, with head injuries identified as a major contributing factor. Following completion of the required formalities, Malik’s body was handed over to his family. He had been married for three years and is being mourned by relatives, colleagues, and friends.
