TikTok removed more than 20 million videos from Pakistan in the first quarter of 2024 due to violations of community guidelines. This makes Pakistan the second-highest country in terms of the number of videos removed, with the United States being the highest.
According to TikTok’s latest transparency report, the platform removed 20,476,684 videos from Pakistan during this period. The primary reasons for removal included violations related to adult nudity and sexual activities, harassment and bullying, and illegal activities and regulated goods.
In addition to video removals, TikTok also filtered nearly 122,000 comments in Pakistan. The report indicated that these comments were flagged for violating community guidelines, focusing on promoting a safe and respectful environment for users.
TikTok’s report highlighted that these actions are part of its ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and authentic environment on the platform. The company uses a combination of technology and human moderation to enforce its community guidelines and local laws.
