An employee of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) was shot at and injured by his wife’s lover, after he married the women. A case was registered in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station.

Shaukat, son of Feroz Deen said that he is a resident of Zehra Apartments situated in Block-6, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and works at KESC as a line man.

A few months back he married a widow, Yasmeen and began residing with her at the above mentioned address. After marrying Yasmeen he received threats from accused Mohammed Younus who also wanted to marry her but whose proposal she had rejected.

While he was at his flat with his wife, accused Younus called him on his cellphone and asked him to come downstairs to talk near the main gate of Zehra Apartments. When he complied with this request and came downstairs, accused Younus took out his pistol and began threatening Shaukat.

After some hot words were exchanged, the accused shot Shaukat, injured him and then fled. The police have registered a case.
