Sir: Pakistan is the only country in the world where the government charges a TV licence fee from its consumers via electricity bills at Rs 35 on monthly basis. What is the purpose of charging a TV licence fee and what benefit does the consumer get by paying through electricity bills? Who is pocketing all this money and where is it being used? I believe the government must be generating a great deal of revenue from this fee without passing any benefit to the people. The collection of the TV licence fee should stop because it seems useless.
