SUKKUR: Two teenaged girls were strangled to death by their brothers in the Bahawal Khan Junejo village, Kutcha area, Qadrapur police station jurisdiction, on the pretext of karo—kari on March 31, 2004.

The bodies of the girls — Meena, 17, and Popri, 18 — were thrown in the River Indus. Ghulam Mohammad Junejo, the uncle of the girls, lodge an FIR against the accused, identified as Lakhmir, son of Karam Junejo, and Ali Murad, son of Allah Jiwayo.

Police said the accused were nephews of Ghulam Mohammad Junejo.
