KHAIRPUR: The inhuman tribal custom of Karo-Kari continues to devour lives in interior Sindh despite the governmentÃs tall claims about protection of womenÃs rights. In a latest incident two people, including a girl, were mercilessly put to death on the pretext of Karo-Kari in a village of Khairpur district on Tuesday. Muhammad Akram allegedly shot dead his niece Zadu, daughter of Amir Bakhash Shanbani, and her alleged paramour Baroucho, son of Baharuddin Shanbani in the village Shanbani, which falls in the precincts of Tando Masti police station. The alleged killer suspected that the pair had illicit relations. Akram, later, surrendered to the Tando Masti police and confessed to killing the pair. He said that he lost control over himself when he spotted his niece with Baroucho in an objectionable position and put them to death. The police have registered the case and started investigations.
