TOBA TEK SINGH: The local Ulema have demanded of the government to put the names of all six accused involved in the blasphemy case on the Exit Control List (ECL).
It was demanded at a meeting held at the Jamia Kareemia on Wednesday with Tanzeem-e-Ulema Ahle Sunnah chief Sahibzada Faiz Rasool Siddiqui in the chair.
The meeting participants demanded of the government high-ups immediate arrest of all the remaining accused in the case. The meeting also decided that a delegation of Ulema would meet the DPO on Thursday to apprise him of resentment among the people over the failure of the City police in arresting the accused.
Earlier, it was learnt that on Eid-e-Milad-un- Nabi (SAW) day, Faisal Gulzar was returning from a Milad procession when he met a Christian youth Salamat Masih who had pasted a sticker of Naalain Mubarak on his pocket.
Faisal said he saw that accused Salamat allegedly desecrated the sticker.
On this report, the City police registered a case against the accused and his five accomplices who later attacked the house of Faisal. The police have so far arrested Salamat Masih and Shela Masih while the other four accused are still at large.
