SARGODHA- Annual elections of Sargodha Union of Journalists were held on April 9, 2003and following office-bearers for the year2003 were elected.
Mr Khalid Asgher Shaikh (daily Business Report) President, Abdul Samad Shaheen (Musawat) Senior Vice President, Raza Naqvi (Kainat), Ehsan-ul-Haq (Leader), Naseem Chaudhry (Muqabala), Nadeem Ahmad Qureshi Vice Presidents, Javed Gujar, General Secretary, Shaikh Rizwan (Insaf) Deputy General Secretary, Malik Imran (Dawat-e-Amal) Joint secretary, Tahawer Bilal (Business Time) Secretary Finance, Waqar Haider Naqvi, Secretary Information Humayun Altaf (Nawa-i-Waqt) Office Secretary while Shaikh Mehboob Asgher, Irshad Ahmad Islahi, Zuber Saqib, Vice Chairman and Abdul Ghafar Bhatti Chairman of the Executive Committee, were elected unanimously.
Pervez Ansari, Aamer Khan, Iqbal Jut, Abdul Karim, M.A. Awan, Amjad Pervez, RA Tufail, Tahir Naeem Qureshi, Shaikh Saeed, Shaikh Iqbal, Hameed Khan and Tanweer were elected members of the Executive Committee.
Newly-elected President of the Union Mr Khalid Asgher Shaikh, while addressing the meeting said that he would work for the unity and uplift of the journalists and would try to cultivate fraternity and brotherhood amongst the journalists and would make all-out efforts to protect the rights of the journalists without any discrimination.
