HYDERABAD, August 27 2006: A married woman of Kunri Taluka of district Mirpurkhas on Saturday (Aug 26) sought justice against the Taluka Nazim, “who is committing atrocities on her and her family members”.
Addressing a news conference at the local press club along with her three daughters, Nadira Parveen said she has been on the run for the last 10 days after her abortive self-immolation attempt at Mirpurkhas on August 14. She alleged that the Taluka Nazim of Kunri had lascivious inclinations towards her, but when she refused to surrender to his evil desires he started lodging concocted complaints against her spouse and son with the local police.
Parveen alleged that some of the kinsfolk of the Taluka Nazim had also assaulted her when her husband and son were implicated in a fake case. “Since then I have been running from pillar to post for justice,” she said.
Parveen regretted that the area residents instead of supporting her were leveling charges against her and suspecting her character. However she vowed to continue her struggle for justice. She threatened self-immolation if action was not taken against the Taluka Nazim of Kunri. Meanwhile, the alleged party also addressed a news conference and hurled allegations at Parveen. They alleged that Parveen was a bad character woman.
