ISLAMABAD: The four-day training workshop for journalists on monitoring of media rights concluded here Thursday with participation of 21 journalists from different parts of the country.
Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) in collaboration with International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) organised the workshop attended by media persons from Fata, Balochistan, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore and the federal capital.
The workshop aimed at educating journalists to monitor the violations of rights of journalists while the participants would be able to impart training among other fellow colleagues after completing their course, said coordinator workshop, President Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists Tahir Rathore. He said that PFUJ would hold a series of workshops in future for advocacy of journalists. The participants of the workshop were divided in four groups and were given presentations on media rights monitoring, filing of alerts, repairing alerts, advocacy and campaigning.
