LARKANA, August 20 2006: The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the first internet service for the people of Larkana, ZABNET, finally issued notices to its employees informing that it has wound up its operations in Larkana, reliable sources told on Saturday (Aug 19).

The ZABNET administration’s decision has rendered the employees jobless and it has also not given any package to them, source said. Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto had initiated Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (ZABNET) Internet service in Larkana in 2003 with huge investment.

Sources said now the working employees have been issued notices that the ZABNET is ceasing its Larkana operations. As the Internet service provider has been earning substantial revenue ever since its start, the decision to wind up its operations in Larkana is only an attempt to undermine all those projects that were initiated under or during the Pakistan Peoples Party government in Sindh, sources added.
