
In recent meetings in Muzaffarabad, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir government reiterated its pledge to continue supporting state newspapers and addressing the challenges faced by journalists in the region. Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore and Director General Public Relations Tariq Jameel Durani both held significant discussions this week with representatives from the local journalist community.
Prime Minister Rathore met with a delegation from the All Kashmir Newspapers Society led by Secretary Finance Ajaz Khan. During the meeting, he assured them of the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing press freedom and resolving the financial and professional issues that journalists encounter. Chief Editor Nazir of daily Jannat and Secretary Information Ali Hasnain Naqvi of the Kashmir Journalists Forum were also present.
Simultaneously, Tariq Jameel Durani, the newly appointed Director General Public Relations of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, hosted a delegation from the Azad Kashmir Newspaper Society (AKNS). The meeting was attended by AKNS President Sardar Zahid Tabassum, Secretary General Zulfiqar Butt, and several key journalists.
Durani expressed gratitude for the delegation’s visit and underscored the complementarity of the Information and the media to promote state development and public awareness. The discussions also covered enhancing the effectiveness of both traditional and digital media in the region.
