ISLAMABAD, August 27 2005: The immigration staff of the Islamabad International Airport Friday August 26 off-loaded seven passengers attempting to fly to different countries on fake or incomplete documents, FIA sources said.
The immigration sources told ‘The News’ that special instructions were given to the staff by the high-ups to remain alert for combating human smuggling and to reduce illegal immigration from the airport.
The immigration staff, while checking documents, found travel documents of seven passengers fake or incomplete.
Bakhtawar Khan, son of Juma Khan, resident of Swat, and Abdul Hamid, son of Muhammad Aslam, resident of Abbottabad. They were proceeding to Doha by Qatar Air Lines flight – QR-398.
Sabar Hussain, son of Nazar Hussain, resident of Gujrat, Usman Ali, son of Ahmad Ali, resident of Attock, were going to Canada by PK-781.
Muhammad Wasim, son of Yaqoob Shahid (Lahore), was proceeding to London by EK-613. Irshad Begum, wife of Asghar Ali, resident of Fatehpur, Gujrat, was going to London by KU-206. Zairish Riaz, wife of Kamran Riaz (Islamabad), along with her six-month-old daughter Alisha Riaz, was proceeding to France.
Two among the offloaded passengers – Bakhtawar Khan and Abdul Hamid – have been booked under immigration laws and handed over to the Passport Cell for further investigation, sources said.
