
On January 29, the Balochistan Union of Journalists elected its new leadership in Quetta, with Manzoor Ahmed becoming president and Shah Hussain Tareen elected general secretary.
According to the election results, other office-bearers elected were Fareed Ullah Khan as senior vice president, Zafarullah Baloch as vice president, Kifayat Ali as senior joint secretary, Adnan Saeed as joint secretary and Asmat Samalani as finance secretary. Eight members of the executive committee were also elected.
Members of the Balochistan National Party including Ghulam Nabi Marri, a member of its central executive committee, and former district information secretary Naseem Javed Hazara extended congratulations to the newly elected president, general secretary and other office-bearers, as well as the elected members of the executive committee.
Executive committee included Shehzada Zulfiqar, Raza ur Rehman, Saleem Shahid, Syed Khalil ur Rehman, Arshad Butt, Murtaza Zehri, Mohammad Aamir and Mohib Ullah.
The polling was supervised by Election Committee Chairman Yaqoob Shahwani, alongside members Ibrahim Behrani, Fazal Tawab, and Mujeebullah Achakzai, ensuring a smooth electoral process. Additionally, eight members were elected to the executive committee, all receiving strong mandates.
