KARACHI, June 04 2006: To make technology more accessible and affordable for small and medium businesses (SMB) in the region, Intel has enlisted the support of the larger industry with the introduction of a new program specifically designed to deliver reliable, secure, and cost-effective solutions to meet their business needs. Called the Intel SMB Essentials program, PC-makers like Lenovo, TCL, Founder and Great wall and software vendors like Starsofteomm, Fortune IT and Sinowave offer solutions to help small businesses succeed. Financial companies like MayBank in Malaysia are also willing to lend a helping hand to provide the financing and service providers like China Telecom, PLDT in Philippines and Tata in India will provide Internet connectivity.

The SMB Essentials program focuses on the desktop mobility and server solutions to build and enhance the technology foundation for SMBS. To help simplify the buying decision, Intel provided three main options for SMBs to choose from: The “Good” option: It consists of the Pentium 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology and Intel original chipsets for the desktop platform, including Celerons. *The “Better’ option: It consists of the Pentium D processor and Intel original chipsets with dualcore technology.

*The ‘Best’ option: is based on the Intel’s premier desktop brand for commercial use based on vPro technology. As part of the SMB Essentials campaign, Intel will continue with its Business Advantage Seminars for SMBs across the region. —Xenith.
