On May 16, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir thanked and praised the role of the national media, stating that it responded ‘courageously and wisely’ during recent tensions with India. He remarked that the way the Pakistani media countered Indian narratives, “they would remember it for sure.”
Speaking informally to journalists during an event marking Youm-e-Tashakur at the Pakistan Monument, the COAS said ““We have concealed nothing; everything has been presented to the nation in a clear and transparent manner. The Pakistani media has demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and effectively countered Indian propaganda in a commendable way.”
He noted that the media played a vital role in promoting national unity and projecting Pakistan’s image as a vibrant and vigilant nation. “The way our media confronted Indian narratives, with both courage and strategic insight, is truly remarkable. We are proud of our journalists and media institutions,”” the COAS said.
