
On May 16, a workshop aimed at promoting voter awareness and civic engagement was organised by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for journalists and civil society organisations.
The event brought together media professionals and civil society representatives to discuss ECP’s initiatives focused on empowering marginalized communities. The workshop was inaugurated by Muhammad Nadeem Khan, Director (Elections) at the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stated that the ECP is committed to ensuring inclusive electoral participation.
“Through collaboration with media and civil society, we aim to build a more informed and engaged electorate, thereby strengthening the democratic foundations of Pakistan,” Khan said. He further noted that the ECP continues to implement various measures to increase voter registration and participation without any discrimination.
Sessions during the event were conducted by Duriya Aamir, Director (Media Coordination) at the ECP Secretariat, Muhammad Nadeem Khan, and Sohail Ahmad, Deputy Director (MCO). The sessions highlighted the significance of voter registration and its impact on Pakistan’s democratic process.
