ISLAMABAD: A sessions court in Islamabad on Saturday ordered registration of a case against Geo/Jang Group and Amir Mir for levelling allegations against a secret agency.
Additional Sessions Judge Islamabad Muhammad Jehangir Awan ordered registration of FIR against the owner of Geo News channel Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman and Amir Mir under section 6-B and C of the Anti-Terrorism Act over levelling allegations against a secret agency (ISI).
Petitioner Arshad Butt through his lawyer had filed a plea under section 154 Cr. P.C. seeking registration of case against owner of Geo/Jang Group and Amir Mir, brother of Hamid Mir.
Counsel for Geo/Jang Group Faisal Khan argued that the petitioner is not aggrieved person. He said the Islamabad High Court has already dismissed a plea on the same stance.
However, the court in its orders directed the SHO Margalla to register FIR against those involved in defamation of army and ISI.
