ABBOTTABAD: Following the directives of the district and sessions judge, Haripur, the Model City Police Station on Saturday registered a first information report (FIR) against a police officer and his son for their alleged involvement in an abduction case.
The District and Sessions Judge, Shabbir Khan, directed the SHO Model City Police Station on Friday to lodge a case against the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Qazi Muhammad Farooq, and his son, Sherdil, for their alleged involvement in kidnapping of three sisters – Kinza Fatima, Bushra and Saila Batool – students of a private school in Haripur.
Dr Akhtar Nawaz, a dental surgeon in Kot Najibullah, had submitted a complaint with the Model City Police Station, Haripur, stating that DSP Qazi Muhammad Farooq, the then in-charge of the Security Branch, Abbottabad, had kidnapped his three daughters on December 24, 2009. “When I went to the school to pick my daughters, the school security guards told me that a man and two women had already picked them,” he said in complaint to the police, adding that he received a call from the DSP on December 27 wherein he demanded Rs 10 million as ransom for the release of his daughters.
He said he also provided the caller’s number to the police for investigation, besides bringing the incident to the notice of senior police authorities. Sources said the police had not recovered the kidnapped girls so far but the DSP had been transferred to Peshawar to face a disciplinary enquiry.
