Director Public Relations Gujranwala, Waqar Javed Naqvi, on behalf of DGPR Lahore, distributed cheques worth Rs. 50,000 each to four journalists from Sialkot. The ceremony took place on November 17, at the District Information Office (DIO).

The journalists who received financial support included Munir Butt, Abdul Hameed Mirza, Zayad Tahsin Tariq, and Shakeel Sehti.

Addressing the participants, Director Public Relations Waqar Javed Naqvi, alongside Senior Journalist Junaid Aftab, praised the government’s ongoing efforts for the welfare of journalists. They highlighted the importance of journalists’ work, emphasizing that, in today’s era, media professionals—both in print and electronic platforms—strive to deliver accurate and truthful information to the public, often risking their lives. This dedication, they noted, is commendable.
