LAHORE: A four-year-old girl was raped and killed in a remote village of Kharriyanwala area of Faisalabad, a private TV channel reported on Sunday.

The relatives of the girl alleged that Abdul Rehman and his employee, Tanveer, raped the girl and strangled her, after which they dumped her body in a field.

The angry relatives blocked the Faisalabad-Sheikhupura Road and protested against the incident and refused to allow post-mortem of the child until the arrest of the accused. Saddar SP Zulfiqar Ahmed and DSP Ejaz Khan could not convince the relatives to end their protest.

Taking serious notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered immediate arrest of the accused. Talking to the channel, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah assured the relatives that stern action would be taken against the culprits, while Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Zaheeruddin called the incident a breach of security. He said he would take up the matter in the provincial assembly.
