Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi highlighted the significant role of photojournalists in society during a meeting with a delegation of photojournalists at Governor House Karachi, headed by senior photojournalist and former President of the Pakistan Association of Press Photographers (PAPP) Athar Khan.
The delegation included former PAPP Presidents Syed Abbas Mehdi and Syed Hamid Hussain, and Governing Body member Syed Imran Ali.
Hashmi emphasised the essential role of photojournalists in communication and information dissemination, stressing the power of photography to convey messages.
He urged photojournalists to use social media responsibly to promote a positive and constructive image of the country, and called for introducing photography to younger generations and promoting dignified and responsible journalism.
Syed Abbas Mehdi congratulated Hashmi on his new role and presented him with a bouquet, while the delegation thanked him for recognising their professional contributions
