On September 3, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) issued fresh notices to actress Momina Iqbal and PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar following the emergence of new digital evidence in an online harassment case against them regarding the alleged harassment of Iqbal.

Iqbal has been summoned on September 14 and Chadhar on September 11.

Iqbal had earlier accused Chadhar via social media of cyberbullying, online harassment and threats, leading to a case registered against Chadhar by the NCCIA under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and the Pakistan Penal Code.

The NCCIA formed a special investigation team led by a deputy director to examine the new and existing record. The team has one month to complete the investigation and submit its findings to the NCCIA director general.

The agency said conclusions regarding guilt or innocence before the inquiry is completed would be premature.

The investigating officer also told the court that there was currently no need to arrest Chadhar or his wife, Sumaira.
