HYDERABAD, August 27 2005: The Federal Minister for Communications Shamim Siddiqui has said that government is computerising the post offices all over the country to improve the performance and facilitate the general public.
He made these remarks while visiting the General Post Office Hyderabad along with Deputy Post Master General Noorul Qamar Qasimi, Chief Post Masters Akbar Ali Dero, Zafar Mohammed Qureshi and other officers.
The minister checked the performance of the post office staff at the counters of money orders, utility bills, and western union and also directed the staff to provide best quality services to the public.
Speaking at the occasion, he said that government is taking concrete measures to provide better facilities to the customers and public so as to improve their living standard through providing them modern facilities.
The communication minister said that the federal government and concerned ministry are working actively to facilitate the post office customers on top priority through starting new facilities at the post offices across the country.
He further said that in order to facilitate the public the post offices would be remain opened from dawn to dusk to collect utility bills and announced that more such initiatives would be taken in near future.
