A district and sessions court in Islamabad has declared two journalists and a leader from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party absconders and issued permanent arrest warrants for them in separate cases involving alleged anti-state propaganda on social media.

Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Abbas Shah issued the written orders declaring journalists Ahmad Noorani and Jameel Farooqi, along with PTI leader Seemabia Tahir, as absconders. The orders state that the three failed to appear before the court despite being repeatedly summoned. The cases against them, which pertain to alleged propaganda against the Pakistan Army, were registered in July and August 2025.

The court has directed that the permanent arrest warrants be executed to ensure the accused are brought before the court to face trial. According to the written orders, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has completed and submitted challans in the cases.
