Man arrested in Multan for posting anti-state content on social media

In a recent crackdown on cybercrime, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested a man from Multan for allegedly sharing content on social media that was deemed anti-army and anti-state. The suspect, identified as Azhar Ali, is accused of using digital platforms to disseminate material against state institutions.

An official said the arrest was made under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, and relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. Punjab NCCIA Director Muhammad Ali Wasim, who affirmed that the agency would persist in its efforts to curb the misuse of social media against the state.
