CHISHTIAN: A newly married young man committed suicide after shooting dead his wife and two of her female relatives in Chak 4-D near here on Tuesday. Police said Muhammad Javed used to torture his wife, Mazharan Bibi, frequently whom he married some six months ago.

Mazharan went to her father’s house after Javed thrashed her over some dispute five days ago. When Javed tried to bring her back, she refused to come. Two of her relatives also asked her not to go back with her husband. This infuriated Javed, who shot dead his wife and his wife’s sister-in-law Saddiqa and aunt Shamim Akhter.

The police reached the spot on a tip-off but on their arrival, Javed shot himself dead with his 12-bore rifle. The police registered a case.
