Media should highlight women’s issues

ISLAMABAD – State Information Minister Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli said that media personnel should play their role in effectively highlighting women’s issues.

Media could highlight social issues and could help the government in resolving issues with adoption of multi-pronged approach through legislation or creating awareness among the people, she said.

Anisa Zeb was addressing a workshop on ‘Human Rights of Women’ organised by the Ministry of Women Development. She said that government’s media-friendly policies were promoting the sector, which had already progressed under the leadership of President General Pervez Musharraf.
