ISLAMABAD: The National Database Registration Authority (Nadra), suspending its routine work for the past 20 days, has started compiling voters’ lists as well as enrolment of new voters on the direction of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Nadra sources said. The Nadra offices would be closed for public throughout the country for 20 days and no new CNIC would be made during 20 days, however, a desk would be established in every major city of the country to issue the CNICs made before the ban, the sources added.
The enlistment would start on January 10, 2012 and the job completed on 30th of this month, the sources said. The staff would work from 8 am-10 pm daily and complete enlistment of over 90 million voters within 20 days.
A notification in this regard has been issued by the concerned authorities, the sources said. The sources added that compilation of data of individuals would directly be linked with the Nadra and ECP headquarters.
