The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested 39 people, including a woman, during a raid on an alleged illegal call centre in Lahore involved in blackmail using digital loan applications and AI-generated obscene images.
The warrant-backed raid led to the seizure of 40 laptops and 41 mobile phones for forensic analysis. The suspects allegedly operated under the name Talk Master Private Limited.
According to the NCCIA, the suspects allegedly used the data to create obscene images with artificial intelligence and threatened borrowers with sharing the images among their contacts unless they repaid loans. The agency has registered a case and launched further investigations.
NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said the agency would maintain a zero-tolerance policy against the misuse of digital platforms for blackmail and other cybercrimes.
