Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) has partnered with two Sindh universities to create paid internships, professional mentorship and practical media opportunities for women students, strengthening the link between academic learning and the newsroom.

PPF signed Memorandums of Understanding with Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad (SBBU-SBA), as part of efforts to give women students greater exposure to journalism and the wider media industry.

Under the SMIU partnership, eligible women students from Mass Communication, Media Studies and English will be connected with media organisations across Sindh. PPF will provide monthly stipends, organise journalism workshops and seminars, and facilitate mentorship by experienced women journalists.

The agreement with SBBU-SBA similarly provides opportunities for paid internships for eligible female students while extending cooperation to training, research, workshops, professional development and knowledge exchange.

Together, the partnerships aim to give aspiring women journalists a clearer route from university education into professional media, combining classroom knowledge with practical experience and industry mentorship.
