LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab has said that her party has no stance regarding the creation of new provinces but policy guidelines in this regard would be adopted after a party meeting with the party co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari, soon.

She said no body was ready to listen to the facts regarding the blasphemy law as the media was dominated by journalists with right-wing leanings.

Talking to the media after the inauguration of Radio Kinnaird FM 97.6 at the Kinnaird College for Women here on Monday, the PPP central information secretary said her party would determine its stance regarding the creation of new provinces in the country soon as no policy guidelines were available yet.

To a question, she said it was unfortunate that liberal-minded journalists had gone in the background, adding that Pakistan was fighting its own war, not that of Europe and the US. Answering a question, Wahab claimed there were no tax-evaders in the parliament, and the courts would decide regarding the assembly members who had not disclosed their assets.

To a question about the diplomatic immunity to US national Raymond Davis, she said the matter was in the court and it would be premature to make any judgment since the investigation was underway.

To another question, she said the government wanted to enhance the education budget but it was subjected to more tax revenues from the people.

She said the dream of increase in the budget for education could not be realized unless the people fulfilled their responsibility and paid more taxes.
