President Asif Ali Zardari awarded Sarmad Ali, the President of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), the prestigious Sitara-i-Imtiaz in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of Pakistan’s newspaper industry. This accolade marks the second occasion Sarmad Ali has received this honor, having previously been awarded in 2013, also under President Zardari’s tenure.

Sarmad Ali has a longstanding career in media management, advertising, and the promotion of the print media sector in Pakistan. His role has been instrumental in shaping the country’s media landscape, owing to his extensive experience and leadership positions in various key media and advertising associations.

Ali’s career highlights include serving three times as the president of the Marketing Association of Pakistan and leading the Pakistan chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA). He also holds a position on the IAA’s global Board of Directors, representing Pakistan internationally.

The conferral of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz to Sarmad Ali is seen by many within media circles as recognition of his persistent efforts to enhance Pakistan’s newspaper industry and uphold professional standards in advertising and journalism. His dual recognition by the state underscores his pivotal role and commitment to these sectors.
