On May 11, the Senate Standing Committee on Railways requested a report from the Ministry of Railways concerning a public notice that restricts the use of railway premises by social media influencers, bloggers, and the general public for purposes such as advertising, filming, or photography. This request was made during a committee meeting chaired by Senator Shahadat Awan at the Parliament.

During the meeting, Senator Awan highlighted concerns that the notice infringes upon the fundamental right to information and access as protected by the Constitution of Pakistan. The committee expressed the necessity for the Railways Ministry to uphold transparency, especially in light of strategic projects like the ML-I project and the Railways Advanced Infrastructure Network (RAIN) and Weight in Motion (WIM) systems.

The Senate Standing Committee recommended that the ministry give a briefing on actions taken against illegal encroachments on railway land in Karachi, in the next meeting.
