On May 09, senior journalist and former Chief Reporter of The Nation, Islamabad, Maqbool Elahi Malik, passed away in Islamabad. His funeral prayers were scheduled to be held after Asr prayers on May 10 at Jamia Masjid Ali Al-Murtaza in G-13/4, Islamabad.

The Nation’s management and staff expressed their profound sadness over his passing and extended their condolences to his family.

Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, also expressed his deep sorrow and grief over Malik’s demise. In his condolence message, he lauded the late journalist’s professional excellence and his enduring contributions to journalism. Sadiq’s tribute highlighted Malik’s impactful career, stating that his work will be remembered for many years to come.

Furthermore, Sadiq extended his heartfelt sympathies to Malik’s family, sharing in their grief during this difficult time. He prayed for the departed soul to be granted the highest ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous and for the bereaved family to find the strength and fortitude to cope with this significant loss.
