Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inaam Memon distributed 512 health insurance cards at a ceremony organized by the Hyderabad Union of Journalists at the Hyderabad Press Club. The event, attended by senior officials and media representatives.

The senior minister, who holds the portfolios of Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the Pakistan Peoples Party’s longstanding respect for press freedom. He stated that the party values constructive criticism and has never imposed restrictions on the press. He gave reassurance of the government’s commitment to support journalists’ welfare.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures including the President of the Hyderabad Press Club, Junaid Khanzada, HUJ General Secretary and President Hameed Mian Sheikh, and senior journalist Ali Hassan. Additionally, several government officials such as Hyderabad Division Commissioner Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi, DIG Tariq Razzaq Dharejo, Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abidin Memon, and SSP Shahzeb Chachar amongst others were present.

The distribution of health insurance cards marks a crucial step in supporting journalists’ welfare, a sentiment strongly echoed by the senior minister in his assurance of further measures to enhance the journalist community’s well-being.
