Women credit scheme throughout Balochistan soon

QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Social Welfare Begum Shama Perveen Magsi has said that a women credit scheme will be extended to all the districts under which each women entrepreneur will be provided with financial assistance of Rs 10,000. Talking to a women delegation here on Tuesday, she said the conditions of the women would remain unchanged unless concrete measures were taken to improve their economic status.

She said the present government was sincere in improving the social and economic status of women, which was very clear from the fact that it had provided Rs 2.2 million for women welfare to every district. The amount would be spent in consultation with the community elders in order to ensure its fair utilization, she said. Meanwhile, Talking to different delegations in Naseerabad on Tuesday Balochistan Minister for Services and General Administration and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Abdul Rehman Jamali said that the federal government had launched several mega projects in Balochistan, which would not only remove sense of deprivation among the people but would also develop the province to bring it at par with other provinces of the country.

The minister said that the government would respect fundamental rights of people and would serve them irrespective of their creed, caste and political affiliation. Jamali maintained that the government was spending a major chunk of development funds in far-flung areas of Balochistan in order to improve living standard of people. He said that the government provided countless opportunities to youths to utilize their energies for prosperity and development of the country. He stressed the youths to focus on acquisition of technical education.
