Bar associations honour newly elected Court Journalists Association cabinet

On February 14, the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) hosted separate receptions to honour the newly elected cabinet of the Court Journalists Association, congratulating the office-bearers and reaffirming cooperation between the legal community and the media.

At a reception organised by the Lahore Bar Association, President Irfan Hayat Bajwa said mutual cooperation between lawyers and court reporters is essential for ensuring transparency and strengthening the judicial system. He stated that court reporters play a vital role alongside lawyers in upholding the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law, conveying the voices of both lawyers and the public from the courts. Secretary General Malik Fahad Nisar Khokhar said the professional partnership between lawyers and court reporters contributes to a transparent and effective judicial system.

The Lahore Bar Association congratulated the newly elected office-bearers, including President Muhammad Ashfaq, Secretary Muhammad Haroon, Senior Vice President Imran Ahsan, Vice President Sheikh Zain-ul-Abideen, Vice President Lower Court Chaudhry Nauman Noor, Finance Secretary Rana Bilal, Joint Secretary Afzal Sial, Information Secretary Suleman Awan and Digital Media Secretary Asad Shah. Other bar officials, members, lawyers and journalists attended the ceremony.

Separately, the Lahore High Court Bar Association held a dinner in the High Court Bar Room where President Asif Naswana and Secretary Farrukh Ilyas Chaudhry presented shields to President Muhammad Ashfaq and other cabinet members. Naswana said court reporters play an important role alongside lawyers in promoting constitutional supremacy and the rule of law, while Farrukh Ilyas expressed hope that the new cabinet would uphold professional standards and democratic values.

Muhammad Ashfaq thanked both bar associations for their support and pledged to strengthen professional harmony between lawyers and court reporters. He said court journalists remain committed to protecting public interest, strengthening the bar-bench relationship and promoting awareness about legal rights. The Lahore Bar Association reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of lawyers and to strengthening the judicial system through continued cooperation with the media.
