On October 2, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was interrogated by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over allegations involving online betting, gambling and the leaking of sensitive team information during Pakistan’s Test series in England.

Neither Rizwan nor the NCCIA officials provided comments to the media after the session. The cricketer maintained a neutral stance, noting only the officials’ cordiality and expressing his desire to leave as he was feeling hungry.

The inquiry lasted more than three and a half hours, with four NCCIA officials questioning Rizwan and examining his mobile phone. The device was seized in England on August 30 for forensic analysis, while Rizwan had provided its password and previously allowed officials to examine its contents in his presence.

Rizwan appeared before the agency under a notice issued under Section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Rizwan had earlier sought clarification about the nature of the inquiry and the return of his phone through a formal letter.
