PNCA workshop empowers Pakistani youth in mobile journalism & documentary filmmaking

A one-day workshop focusing on mobile journalism, digital storytelling, and documentary filmmaking conducted at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad. This event was part of the National Youth Mobile Travel & Tourism Videography Competition 2026, aiming to equip young storytellers with the skills needed to showcase Pakistan’s diverse cultural and natural heritage through digital media.

The workshop, organised by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), attracted 60 participants from various parts of Pakistan.

Experts in digital content led the sessions, sharing their insights on mobile documentary production. The curriculum covered essential aspects such as selecting subjects, conducting historical research, and mastering mobile cinematography. Additionally, ethical considerations in tourism storytelling, sound recording techniques, conducting interviews, editing, voice-over production, and integrating music were thoroughly discussed.

Participants also learned about optimising content for digital platforms. The blend of theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations provided a comprehensive learning experience, enabling the participants to produce compelling visual content using readily available mobile technology.
