The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on September 29 sought final arguments in a petition challenging the appointment of Ambreen Jan as chairperson of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition filed by Sohail Sajjad Rana through Advocate Shahid Mahmood Khokhar. The court reviewed responses submitted by the President’s House, Cabinet Division, Ministry of Information, PEMRA Chairperson Ambreen Jan and other respondents.

With all replies submitted, the court adjourned the hearing and directed lawyers to present final arguments on November 25.
