Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi directed the provincial Information and Public Relations Department to enhance its communication strategies using modern and digital media platforms. This directive was issued during a meeting held at the Governor House in Peshawar on October 15.
The meeting included key officials such as Adviser to Governor on Information and Public Relations, Samar Haroon Bilour, Secretary Information Dr Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, and Director General Information Ansarullah Khilji. Dr Khan provided a comprehensive briefing on the department’s structure, human resources, and the functioning of its various divisions, including Public Relations, Communication, Press Registrar, FM Radio, and Digital Directorate.
Governor Kundi emphasised the critical role of the Information Department in projecting a positive image of the province and effectively communicating government initiatives, policies, and public welfare programmes. He highlighted the importance of disseminating the activities and priorities of the Advisory Council through a robust communication network.
The governor stressed the need to counter propaganda and promote a positive narrative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by effectively using modern and digital media. He said improved public outreach was essential to ensure citizens remained informed about government efforts and development activities.
The Governor also underscored the importance of a coordinated and result-oriented communication strategy for publicising the initiatives and priorities of the provincial government. This strategy should focus on using all available media channels to present factual information and improve public understanding of governmental policies.
