
On June 09, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, visited the Press Information Department (PID) in Islamabad. During his visit, he was briefed on the department’s operations and its role in communicating government policies and promoting the national narrative both domestically and internationally.
Accompanied by Pakistan Peoples Party Central Secretary Information, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Governor Kundi was welcomed by Principal Information Officer Mubashir Hassan, who has been awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. Officials provided insights into PID’s efforts to safeguard national interests and ensure the dissemination of accurate information.
Governor Kundi praised the Ministry of Information and its associated organisations for their valuable services in countering negative and misleading narratives against Islam and the State of Pakistan. He specifically lauded PID’s response to India’s “false propaganda” during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, recognising the department’s efforts at national and international forums as exemplary. He also paid tribute to Mubashir Hassan and his team for their professional and proactive contributions.
Additionally, the briefing included information on establishing a digital cell in Peshawar, aimed at enhancing strategic communication and digital outreach. Governor Kundi welcomed this initiative, emphasising the importance of maintaining an edge in the digital domain in the contemporary era. He expressed confidence that the digital cell would yield significant results and reiterated the vital role of the Ministry of Information’s institutions in protecting national interests and presenting Pakistan’s stance to the international community.
