On June 09, the National Press Club (NPC) convened a prayer ceremony to honour the late mother of Rana Hassan Sardar, a senior journalist with the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and an NPC member. The ceremony offered prayers for her eternal peace and forgiveness.
The event included numerous NPC members alongside representatives from the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ). A large gathering of relatives, friends, colleagues, and members of the journalistic community also participated.
Proceedings commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which attendees offered prayers seeking the deceased’s elevation in rank, divine forgiveness, and strength for the grieving family.
Several present journalists and community leaders expressed profound sorrow over the loss and extended heartfelt condolences to Rana Hassan Sardar and his family. They prayed for the Almighty’s blessings upon the departed soul, wishing her mercy and the highest place in Jannah. Additionally, they sought courage and fortitude for the family to endure the significant loss with patience.
